Idea for Personal Progress this month.

This month I want you girls to really focus on SERVICE! There have been a lot of natural disasters around the world and I have felt for a long time that we should do something to help the efforts in Haiti. This would be an awesome way for you girls to get a "Good Works" project done. Right now the help that is needed is Haiti is money. The church has a way to donate money through them. If you can come up with a way to earn some extra money to donate to the relief in Haiti, I think that would be an awesome experience for you to have.
Be thinking and maybe we can discuss this at a personal progress night. I would really just like to see one or all of you take on a project to help out in this way:). Love you girls!

Personal Progress Power

I believe there is great power in doing personal progress. I know that it helped me so much as a young woman. So I'm going to start posting ideas on this blog to help you out! I will post activities once or twice a month that I would love to see you girls do and give you the value and experience number it applies to. I hope this can help you girls achieve more in the personal progress program. I know you can do it, Ready..Set... GO!
This design and idea come from Angie at Bushel and a Peck. Print out this "2010 Goals" sheet and write down some goals or New Year Resolutions in the five areas listed. Just one goal in each area is all you need to do. Be realisitc about. Then hang this up somewhere where you will see it often and be reminded of the things you are trying to improve or change in yourselves for the better.

Read the following quote and think about how it relates to the YW Value Knowledge.
In an upcoming activity we will be working on something to improve our journal writing. If you participate in these 2 things- I will put it toward passing off not just a Knowledge experience, but your Knowledge prodject!

Youth Conference

Youth Conference was so much fun and i loved it so much. Thyda, her boyfriend, Joharrah, some of our young men, and i all pack our bags and "enjoyed" a long bus ride to Palmyra, New York where we stayed for three days. was so much fun and David seemed cool with all of our precullar mormon stuff. he actoually seemed to enjoy himself at the sights as much as the members!

We went to the Granden Press, the Smith Farm, the Sacred Grove, Hill Comorah (where we saw the new Joseph Smith movie that i really loved!), and we finished it all off with the Whitmer Farm, where the first church meeting was held. i could really feel the spirit at our vacation there, i even felt it at the crazy dance party at Keuka College. i know that the chiurch is true and at my second visit to "the Cradle of the Restoration" i could feel the spirit that radiated from these sacred sights. we are so lucky that we could go there for Youth Conference and i bet that my cousins back in Utah are all really jealous of the Cambridge Stakes spiritual excursion.

Missionary Prep Combined Activity

You all worked so hard last Wednesday...learning a few things that missionaries have to do on their missions.

1. Knocking on doors to preach the gospel

2. Ironing clothes so you look clothing and suits will look sharp!

3. Cooking your own food (but in this case, cookies..)

..mmm, those cookies were good, too!

I wanted to post this picture (and I know you'll all be mad at me for doing so) BUT...I have a good reason. I love how you are all just sitting here together. You are such a united bunch of girls. It's so nice to see a group of girls who are all different get along so well. That is truly a remarkable thing. I think our Heavenly Father is so proud to have a daughters like you...
