Youth Conference

Youth Conference was so much fun and i loved it so much. Thyda, her boyfriend, Joharrah, some of our young men, and i all pack our bags and "enjoyed" a long bus ride to Palmyra, New York where we stayed for three days. was so much fun and David seemed cool with all of our precullar mormon stuff. he actoually seemed to enjoy himself at the sights as much as the members!

We went to the Granden Press, the Smith Farm, the Sacred Grove, Hill Comorah (where we saw the new Joseph Smith movie that i really loved!), and we finished it all off with the Whitmer Farm, where the first church meeting was held. i could really feel the spirit at our vacation there, i even felt it at the crazy dance party at Keuka College. i know that the chiurch is true and at my second visit to "the Cradle of the Restoration" i could feel the spirit that radiated from these sacred sights. we are so lucky that we could go there for Youth Conference and i bet that my cousins back in Utah are all really jealous of the Cambridge Stakes spiritual excursion.

Missionary Prep Combined Activity

You all worked so hard last Wednesday...learning a few things that missionaries have to do on their missions.

1. Knocking on doors to preach the gospel

2. Ironing clothes so you look clothing and suits will look sharp!

3. Cooking your own food (but in this case, cookies..)

..mmm, those cookies were good, too!

I wanted to post this picture (and I know you'll all be mad at me for doing so) BUT...I have a good reason. I love how you are all just sitting here together. You are such a united bunch of girls. It's so nice to see a group of girls who are all different get along so well. That is truly a remarkable thing. I think our Heavenly Father is so proud to have a daughters like you...

Temple Marriage Night

These are pictures from our "Temple Marriage" activity. We had some delicious wedding cake, discussed why a temple marriage is so important, and then we watched clips from some of the leader's wedding videos.

As you girls looked at our wedding pictures and watched the video clipes, we noticed that there were lots of "aww..."s and sparkling eyes.....we know you girls are excited to one day marry the man of your dreams in the temple! We hope that you'll keep this as your goal and never settle for "till death do you part". How wonderful the day will be when you are married to your eternal companion "For Time and All Eternity."

{Egg-stra Special Activity}

Happy Easter!

Our Wednesday activity this week was planned by Sister Worthen (Kim). She gave us a message about the true meaning of Easter, we ate some YUMMY cookies, and then learned how to dye Easter eggs!

Is this a magic trick, Sam? You found an egg behind your ear? :)

Look how creative you girls are! Hope those eggs taste as good as they look!

Just want you all to know...

that I am so excited to be in Young Women! I am REALLY looking forward to getting to know you all. I'm a teenager at heart and being with you guys lets that side of me shine. This is a special time in your lives...enjoy it! However, this is also a time to learn. It is in these years that you will learn some of the most important lessons. Since we never stop learning, I get to do this with you!!! Well, my mom tells us this everyday, "Be good, remember who you are and what you stand for, always walk in well lite areas, wear your seat belt, and you are a Daughter of God..so act like it!" I never thought I would get to use that! Ha Ha

silver lining

this week hasn't been great for me. i was sick two weeks in a row but so was my grandma in utah. she had nuemonia (i think thats how you spell it) and it got bad. they found out she has lung cancer and its made me feel awful! my family might end up going to utah soon and it won't be too fun because if we don't go on a vacation week my cousins will be in school and i'll have nothing to do. but i guess even the darkest clouds have a silver lining because i haven't seen my utah family in three or more years and i can't wait to see them again. only i wish it was summer because it won't be too fun to play on my cousins trampoline with winter jackets on.

Has anyone seen Steeve?

Steeve, our mascot, has gone missing twice now and i don't know if anyone has found him since i haven't been at church for two weeks because for the last two weekends i have been plagued with various forms of the flu. i've made flyers that we'll hang up when he goes missing, which probably will happen again. i would like to know any news regarding our little mascot while i'm keeping Bobby Jo, the other mascot at my house. thanks

p.s. if anyone knows about the mini blanket that i hand knit for Steve, that disapeared with him, please let me know. t.y.!
p.p.s. the pajama activity was awesome last week! thanks for letting us party at your house! :)

Fun Activity!

For last Wednesday's activity, Becky taught us all how to make a fabulous Japanese dish called Curry. It had chicken, carrots, potatoes, and onions in a creamy curry sauce and we ate it with rice. I think we all agreed that it was simply delicious! We all ate together at Saydi's and then enjoyed yummy cookies for dessert. It was a great time with great food.

I want you girls to know that I have the best times with you and I think you are all wonderful, beautiful girls. I love you tons!!!
